CFB Halifax
In 1906, Her Majesty’s Canadian Dockyard Halifax (HMC Dockyard) was attained by the Canadian government from the Royal Navy and was formally taken over from the British government in 1910, with no changes to the layout. It is one of the oldest defense establishments in Canada. CFB Halifax is home port to the Maritime Forces Atlantic and is Canada’s east coast navy base. The base is formed from a union of military properties situated around Halifax Harbour.
